Cooking Steps

  1. 1

    Mince the onion and garlic.

Advice : Removing the core of the garlic before mincing makes the aroma better and prevents it from burning easily.

    Ingredients
    Onion 0.5 piece
    Garlic 1 clove
  2. 2

Put 2000ml water and 20g salt in a pot. Once boiling, add 200g pasta and cook according to package directions (about 7 minutes).

Advice : Adding 1% salt relative to the water seasons the pasta itself and helps it blend better with the sauce.

    Boiling pasta 7 min
    Ingredients
    Water 2000ml
    Salt 20g
    Pasta 200g
  3. 3

Heat 2 tbsp olive oil and garlic in a frying pan over low heat. When fragrant, add the onion and sauté for about 3 minutes until softened.

Advice : Garlic burns easily, so always start with cold oil and heat it slowly over low heat to bring out the aroma.

    Sautéing onion 3 min
    Ingredients
    Olive oil 2 tbsp
    Garlic 1 clove
    Onion 0.5 piece
  4. 4

Add 12 meatballs, 6 tbsp ketchup, 100ml water, and a pinch of sugar and salt. Simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Advice : Since ketchup already contains sugar and salt, I recommend adding the extra sugar and salt gradually while tasting.

    Simmering sauce 5 min
    Ingredients
    Meatballs (Store-bought, pre-cooked) 12 pieces
    Tomato ketchup 6 tbsp
    Water 100ml
    Sugar 0.5 tsp
    Salt 1g
  5. 5

Add the cooked pasta and black pepper to the frying pan, toss quickly with the sauce, and it's done.

Advice : If the sauce doesn't coat the pasta well, adding half a ladle of pasta cooking water will make it smoother.

    Ingredients
    Pasta 200g
    Black pepper 0.5g
